Introducing API Versioning, SOC 2 accreditation, and support for new features

Introducing API Versioning

Developers building on the Enode platform rely on our APIs. Therefore, any backward incompatible API update changes may lead to errors in their app. Previously, any changes required advance notice to our customers to let them know that their app could be affected and that they would need to dedicate resources to update it. Today, we're rolling out API versioning so customers can update to the latest version of our API at their own pace. Read more about how we do versioning here.

Smart Charging improvements to reduce user drop-off

Smart Charging shifts EV charging to off-peak periods by sending a signal to your users’ EV to stop charging when energy costs rise, and start again when prices drop again. All this is done automatically, while still ensuring your users’ EV is fully charged by the set time.

Product usage data revealed that some users were deactivating smart charging during onboarding or in the first few days following activation. Conversations with several customers also indicated that they found it difficult to communicate the three different phases of smart charging to customers, especially 'Considering' - where Enode checks that the user’s EV is plugged in and charging, and then creates a personalized smart charging plan. We’ve simplified the smart charging plan creation process by improving the logic, and added a new state ‘Fully Charged’ which indicates when an EV is fully charged. Since launching the latest version of smart charging, we’ve noticed a 14% decrease in users deactivating smart charging and a significant uptick in the number of smart charging sessions completed per user. Enode is now SOC 2 Type II Compliant

Our customers trust us to handle and process large amounts of data, and SOC 2 Type II compliance shows that we take our responsibility seriously. Read the announcement here.
